3 Often Seen Marketing & Business Mistakes That Will Kill Profits
It is possible that the percentages for IM Business failures is very comparable if not higher than that for offline businesses. For many years I’ve read the identical statistic that 80% of offline business owners fail within two years. There are a lot of reasons why businesses fail, and of course a large number of them will never be known. One huge general category that contains perhaps most of the causes are mistakes in the execution of business – marketing and advertising. There is a great deal of bad information on the net about how to generate an income on the net. However, when somebody goes down in flames and they have failed, then that is sufficient for most people to cause them to give up.
Perhaps most people will naturally think that giving buyers the greatest number of choices is a good idea. We all like having options, so it is an easy to understand feeling to want to provide them to possible customers. It can be hard to speak in general terms, but we will say that when it comes to making conversions online – a lot of choices can be deadly. It is counter-intuitive, but giving people in your sales funnel a great deal of options can backfire. When it boils down to making choices, or decisions, then far too many have a rough time with it. Buying choices are very tough for a lot of, if not most, people to make. They can become so indecisive that the very common outcome is nothing is bought!
All of us tend to assume others think the way we do; and that is why you must not think everyone is cheap simply because you may be. We are talking about imagining everybody buys at the cheapest possible price – that is patently untrue. Look all around you, there are low priced, inexpensive, and outrageously priced products and services in all markets. As you know, many higher priced products have existed for a very long time. The simple fact that they have existed for so long instantly dispells any myth that all people are cheap. We can only guess why someone is willing to pay $10,000 for a timepiece. If what you sell can be sold at a premium, then do not hesitate to ask for a fair price for it. What you need to do is learn how to position your product in your marketing material.
We all know about the thought of attitude that something is so fantastic online marketing that everybody will want to buy it. I think a lot of people have felt that at some time. Yes, there have been greater than a few products that have been wildly popular. Yet there is no individual product or service that every person has bought. What you need to be careful about is when you have that notion it will make you lazy in your promotional efforts. If you begin to picture your product will be universally liked, then that will point you down destructive paths. Not everyone will want to buy from you, or your product or service.
